The article List of shock sites has been nominatied for deletion again. I noticed that during its past nominations for deletion you voted to have the article deleted. If you have time, please support me in my attempt to have this article deleted by casting your vote in favour of deletion. Thank you. - Conrad Devonshire 07:28, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] One Two Many

I liked your revision here, it's exactly what I meant.-- Tomlouie | Talk 04:48, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode 306

I really don't see why you can't listen to the podcast to confirm what everyone else has, that they were given as many bins as they needed. If you continue to post incorrect information I will bring this issue to a third party. --Banpei 07:51, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello Crunch, I had initally contacted the Mediation Cabal a while ago, but called it off before you'd contacted him as I figured (correctly) that I was probably being too hasty. You're right that this is a silly thing to squabble over, and I hope we can start over with no hard feelings! =) --Banpei 22:14, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation Cabal: Project Runway

Thanks for contacting me Crunch. I am waiting to see what Banepi's thoughts on the matter are. Thanks again for working with both of us. LawrenceTrevallion 02:09, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Props

[edit] Robert Best (designer) deletion

Hey, just wanted to see if you knew anything about this. I think I've missed a deletion review along the way, but I can't seem to find it. In any case, this deletion seems to have been very poorly documented. Take a look and tell me what you think! Thanks. tiZom(2¢) 20:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the Project Runway designer bios... No, I never heard from the admin, Alkivar, and I believe he also simply deleted my message to him on his Talk page. However, the good news is that the last I checked the bios for Laura Bennett and Uli Herzner were reverted by other users. I now consider Alkivar to be abusing his authority as an admin to be deleting articles in this way. Crunch 01:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Also, if you look at Alkivar's deletion log, it looks like he had a little fit of deleting both Project Runway and Top Chef contestant articles all within a span of minutes on October 6, 2006 and all without due process even when some have survived votes for deletion. If you can advise how to stop this kind of abuse by admins, I'd appreciate it. Looking at this guy's discussion page, he doesn't seem like the most popular admin. You may have to look at the history of his Talk page because he tends to delete the critical message. Crunch 01:43, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Alkivar has deleted my comments without getting back to me, but had no problems deleting my comments to him [1]. Has he gotten back to you yet? There's nothing on your talk page that I can see... tiZom(2¢) 15:33, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Still no word from Alkivar, but he continues to delete comments on his Talk page from me and others on this matter and others on the same issue and others like it. I tracked down the history of his nomination and voting as an admin see here and it seems it took three attempts and even then it was tenuous for the reasons we've seen here. I'm not sure if this is a permanent appointment, or if it comes up for renewal. In any case, it looks as if some of these deleted bios have been recreated without interference from Alkivar. Crunch 13:00, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
You've probably seen that Alkivar has now put an arrogant and snotty responose to you on this talk page. Unbelievable. Crunch 00:19, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I did see the message he left - All I really got from it was: "I'm an admin, I can do whatever I want, blah blah..." I try not to let it bother me. Ah well, I'm very non-confrontational, and it seems you are as well.  :o) So it's possible that we'll never get our way with this issue. I mean, I'm a bit iffy as to whether or not Robert Best was indeed notable enough to have a page, but still I'd like to have seen the correct actions taken to remove the article. tiZom(2¢) 03:14, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox

Just wanted to mention, I liked your MassArt infobox so much that I used the same design for BC Law. Great job. Thanks! Cribcage 10:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] wikification of apothecary

I noticed you unwikified my wikification of apothecary in the James Kim article [2] and was curious if you could give a more elaborated justification. When I first looked at the James Kim article and saw that he owned "the" Church Street Apothecary, I did not know what an Apothecary was. You could have replaced Apothecary (something that was unknown to me) with asdfasdfasd (something that's probably unknown to everyone - not that there's really anything to know) and it would have been just as clear to me. Hence I wikified it.

When you unwikified it, you stated that my wikification was confusing and not relevant. I disagree on both counts. To those who do not know what a apothecary is, it's relevant and enlightening. Now, you may not think it's wikipedia's duty to educate in this manner, but honestly, isn't that what the entire James Kim article seeks to do? To educate in that manner? TerraFrost 17:38, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Your proposed change to the James Kim article sounds good. That said, though, I do feel that your "apothecary is a common word which should be known by anyone familiar with the English language" claim is a little insulting. Do you believe that people who are learning English as a second language should, in their attempts to familiarize themselves with English, learn "historical words" (to quote from apothecary) that are, for all essential purposes, obsolete? Like wikipedia says, "[the role of an apothecary is] now served by a pharmacist". I mean, honestly, when was the last time you used the word? I've never asked anyone for directions to the local alchemist shop and asking for directions to the nearest apothecarists shop seems equally pointless, to me.
In any event, the reason why I wikified that word, despite it's obsolescence, is because I believe that knowledge of what apothecary is helps put the store in some sort of context. Never-the-less, and as I have already stated, the change you have proposed does, in my opinion, serve largely the same purpose. TerraFrost 20:50, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Frey

I recently checked in on the James Frey page, and found it seemed to be whitewashed, systematically removing substantiated that happen to reflect poorly on Frey. I think the process well from January to November. However, since November a number of users - many of whom are unregistered and haven't edited any other articles, seem to be create a pro-Frey edit. I don't think the major removals of information were justified. Sourced and cited info is being cut without specific rationale on the Talk page. Since you previously edited the page, I figured I'd ask you if you can stop by the article and help. --JamesAM 00:32, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Saddam Hussein

Hi. You are currently trying to fix the formatting of the references of the article on Saddam. PLEASE use the preview button, because you are breaking the references each time. Many thanks! --Storkk 13:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Longsdrugslogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Longsdrugslogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Image:SamSullivan.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SamSullivan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 23:47, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chancellor, Denice Denton

Hi, the Denice Denton article you have contributed much to looks corrupted now, in that everything below the bottom of the University of California, career section is truncated, at least on my computer--the text is there, but in edit mode only. Can this be fixed? bob -  uriel8  (talk) 17:03, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
