Crustie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Crustie is a British slang term used to describe New Age Travellers and people of similar style and tastes,[1] though it is not generally used by the people it describes, being regarded as a pejorative term. The inference is that they are crusty due to inadequate hygiene.
Rejecting the materialism of modern society they live simple lives with little money and are often seen following the summer festival circuit in England. Dreadlocks are a popular hairstyle. Clothing is a casual mixture of cast offs and charity shop. The image is similar to that of the Hippies of the late sixties but without the flower power aspect. The result being a darker incarnation of the anti materialistic stance.
