Crusher (robot)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Crusher is a 6.5-ton autonomous off-road unmanned ground vehicle developed by researchers at the Carnegie Mellon University's National Robotics Engineering Center for DARPA.
The robot can travel over extreme terrain, such as a 4-foot vertical wall, and is able to carry more than 8,000 pounds of payload at a top speed of 26 miles per hour. It was on display in Pittsburgh on April 29, 2006. Its first two years of military service will be restricted to support role duties.
