Crudgington

Crudgington is a village in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England.
The A442 and B5062 cross at Crudgington. There is a large dairy factory/creamery here owned by Dairy Crest, which makes their butters and Clover.
The Crudgington family history site is found at www.crudgington.org. This traces all branches of the Crudgington family throughout the centuries - the earliest found is Thomas Crogeton, born about 1420s in Shropshire, died 1483 in Shropshire, farmer at Worfield, about 15 miles from Crudgington. Over the centuries the Crudgington family spread, slowly, over Shropshire, and then one enterprising younger son, Roger Crudgington, crossed the Atlantic before 1700, settled in Maryland as a planter. His descendants moved to Tennessee, where seven brothers fought on opposing sides in the American Civil War. There are many wills from England from 1543 onwards - see the website
