Cross Checking

The cross checking penalty is ruled against a player in the sport of ice hockey who checked an opposing player holding his stick with both hands in a horizontal way. Checking is allowed when it is made with the hips or the shoulder. This penalty is usually a minor penalty, therefore the player goes to the penalty box for two minutes.
