Crook Log is a locality on the line of Watling Street within the London Borough of Bexley. Land north of the A207 (once the A2 trunk road) is considered to fall within the Thames Gateway regeneration area, although the rationale behind this boundary is hard to follow.

It is a settlement now obscured by suburban development extending between Welling and Bexleyheath (17.5 km) east south-east of Charing Cross. The key landmarks here at the beginning of the Twenty-first Century are a licensed restaurant and a Sports Centre. The latter was recently expanded to include an indoor swimming pool whilst a free-standing pool formerly known as 'Splashworld' stands empty, awaiting residential redevelopment. Other nearby public amenities include a well-equipped youth centre and a new adult education centre. For younger learners the Crook Log Primary School stands to the south of the straight A207, whereas to its north a small guest house also keeps the name Crook Log in the public eye.

A Netto discount foodstore stands nearby providing an alternative destination for shoppers keen to avoid the crowds and parking fees of Bexleyheath town centre. An amateur theatre called the Edward Alderton Theatre completes the range of local amenities. Actor Roger Moore was once resident in this area.
