[edit] History

[edit] Bloody Roar: Primal Fury/Extreme

In the distance, cheers arise. Cronos's attention is drawn and he pauses in the process of placing on his gloves. As he looks up, he sees himself fully in the standing mirror. Thinking back, he has become use to the uniform he dresses, though he didn't like wearing it a few years ago. The clothes are foreign made, equipped with sensors in parts of the arms and legs, fit to measure. When wearing these clothes he feels like a lab animal, though his father insists that the research will be beneficial for him and all the other Zoanthropes. Though, Cronos doesn't know more than that, and never has been. He doesn't even know the true reason behind the death of his mother or his friend, Jane. He was told there was a war. Why there was he didn't understand, and the death of his mother - something of a catastrophe that they aren't willing to tell him? Or maybe something else, he is not sure for certain. The country that has been built, the Kingdom of Zoanthropes, was built for the sake of a peaceful existence for the Zoanthropes, though he feels something has changed. There is something going on behind the scenes that he doesn't know about. He considers that if he knows all about what is happening, will there be a conclusion or will be the start of something else? He is fearful to learn the truth but needs to know for sure. He decides that if he wins the tournament, he wants to be told everything. A voice calls out to him, telling him it is time. He replies, saying he is coming. And thus, the time has come for the tournament...

[edit] Personality

Cronos is a kindly young man, dedicated to bringing peace to his people. Though he is rather naïve and finds himself manipulated by his father and it may appear at times he's an antagonist, but he only does so to protect his father. Because of his upbringing, he always acts professional and has good manners. He's a good sport, and respects his opponents. He also greatly values friendship.

[edit] Bloody Roar: Primal Fury/Extreme

Cronos finally knows the truth about the experiments going on behind the scenes. His father, King Orion, tells him that he has ordered a new batch of experiments. Horrified, Cronos tells him that he's going to have to do it alone. He pulls out a knife, raising it above his head. His father turns and slaps the knife out of his hands. The weapon skids across the floor out of reach. Defeated, Cronos dropped to his knees. Orion explains that if humans and Zoanthropes want to live in peace, then the research must continue. He walks away, leaving Cronos to pick himself up, considering what his father said. He does want the peace to last between the two races. As his father goes to greet a crowd of people, Cronos stands with him, overlooking their people below, thoughtfully.

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Trivia

  • Cronos appears in a few of the characters endings in Primal Fury/Extreme besides his own - these are: Yugo's, Uriko's, Shina's, Alice's, Ganesha's, Xion's and Long's.
  • Cronos was replaced by Reiji in the 4th game because his design didn't fit into the darker setting - http://www.hudson.co.jp/hde/vol013/index.html
  • Cronos's name comes from that of the Greek God of time, Chronos.
  • There is a debate on his relation to another character in the series - Uranus - saying that he is in fact her son. According to Cronos's story, his mother was killed in a war a long with his best friend, Jane. Though, in argument, because Jane survived the incident, his mother could have also. The fact her story mentions the Greek myth relations of the titans seems too coincidental. Other argued facts are the unstable beast forms and the unexplained fact Cronos faces Uranus in his final battle instead of someone connected to his storyline, like Ganesha or Yugo. All these items are debatable. This connection might be only made through the English version of the game. In the Bloody Roar: Primal Fury strategy guide, their relation is printed on Cronos's page. Aside, it's a matter of debate or choice for fans of the series.
