Cromwell's Castle

Cromwell's Castle is on the island of Tresco in the Isles of Scilly (grid reference SV882159).
It is a coastal fort built by Oliver Cromwell around 1650 and consists of a stone circular artillery tower, with a low 18th century gun platform having its own access and guard room. It is built on a promontory to guard the anchorage between Bryher and Tresco.
It is administered by English Heritage.
