Crocothemis nigrifrons is a species of dragonfly of the widespread genus Crocothemis. It is found in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.

Males of this species are atypical in colour for the genus, being bright powder blue on the abdomen. In almost all other Crocothemis species the males are bright red.

The species is usually found near still or sluggish waters and is common over much of its range.
