The following products could be described as hallmarks of Croatian trade. Every year, the Croatian quality (Hrvatska kvaliteta) seal is awarded to the best Croatian products.

Croatian wines certainly belong to some of the best wines in the world. They are, however, not widely known so far. It is a matter of the growing Croatian economy to make those wines more popular in the world, and it is up to Croatian wine producers to start large-scale production for international markets.

Apart from the great abundance of imported international beers (Heineken, Tuborg, Gösser, Stella Artois, etc.), you will find some tasty home-brewn beers in Croatia. (Real fans need to now that the brewery in Split produces Bavarian Kaltenberg beer by licence of the original brewery in Germany.)

  • Ožujsko beer: brewed in Zagreb (the name refers to the month of March) [2]

  • Osječko beer: from Osijek
  • Staro Češko beer: Czech beer from Daruvar (home to a Czech minority), brewed in Croatia
  • Riječko beer: from the large seaport city of Rijeka on the northern Adriatic coast
  • Kaj beer: a beer which is produced in the Croatian region Zagorje (kaj means what in Croatian in Kajkavian dialect)

Regarding its water resources, Croatia has a leading position in Europe. Concerning water quality, Croatian water is greatly appreciated all over the world. Due to a lack of established industries there have also been no major incidents of water pollution.
