CROTRAM is a Croatian consortium of two companies, which produces the first Croatian low-floor tram (the TMK 2200). It consists of Elektroindustrija Koncar (cro. Končar) and Gredelj, both from Zagreb.

[edit] ZET 2200

The ZET 2200 (another name, NT 2200 or TMK-2200, is also used) is a 100% low-floor tram that operates in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. ZET, the local transportation authority, ordered 70 of them and they will be delivered till the end of 2007.

ZET (Zagreb city Holding) ordered another 70 pcs. of TMK/NT 2200 in February, 2007.

The tram is 32 meters long, in the three bogied sections with two fully suspended articulated sections, it has air-conditioning, cameras inside and outside (instead of rear view mirrors) and 43 computers. It can accommodate up to 202 passengers. Maximum speed is 70 km/h. The track brakes are applied if the driver's hand is removed from the controller if the tram is moving. The construction is based on the three section ADtranz low floor tram (GT6M/GT6N), the difference is that two suspended carbody sections are placed between three sections on bogies. Other transport companies also have been interested, since the TMK 2200 is cheaper than the Western European low floor trams, due to lower production costs. The tram is entirely guided by synchronous computers, it has bottom axles, and is equipped with cctv cameras.

In accordance to a contract made with the city of Zagreb, this firm will deliver 70 units of this meter-gauge tram to ZET (Zagreb Electric Tram: the public transportation company), till May 2007. There are already 60 TMK 2200 (or NT 2200) on the streets of Zagreb. There is very huge international interest in purchasing of TMK 2200 series tramway, from many cities in Europe (Warsaw, some cities in France, Sofia, Belgrade) and even Australia (Melbourne), etc.
