Critical Care is an episode of Star Trek: Voyager, the fifth episode of the seventh season. In an interview on the bonus disc of the Voyager Season 7 DVDs, Robert Picardo describes this episode as an "indictment" of HMOs.

The Doctor is stolen and sold to an alien hospital ship. He is put into service as a physician there, and learns about the system of managed healthcare the aliens practice. Individuals who are deemed more important to society overall are given the best medical care, while others who have few skills or unimportant occupations are neglected.
