Cristalyn

Cristalyn (Cristalyn \c-ristal-yn, cr(i)-sta-lyn\) is a very rare female first name and a very rare surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census). Derived from the name Crystal, which is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "ice", this peculiar, yet lovely name was introduced in America. It represents, the transparent quartz gemstone, usually colorless, that can be cut to reflect brilliant light. However, with the -yn suffix, the name also greatly references someone "of great intelligence", as well as "magificent beauty".
While the name itself is very rare, it can be used as a last name such as Kirchoff Crystallyn, but the name is usually used in a surname such as Cristalyn Kenison.
