Cris Owen (born April 14, 1960 in Stockholm, Sweden) is an Swedish American music impresario. During his 30 years in the entertainment industry Owen has been a songwriter, arranger, record producer, musician, band leader, television producer, and author. Owen made his breakthrough in 1977 with the album "Here I Am". He developed at an early age an ability to visualise what he heard in which made him a popular stage manager for Swedish artists during the eighties.
In Finland during the nineties he will be best remembered for the Miisa Project.[1]
Before Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera , and Jennifer Lopez, Miisa was the princess of pop with her catchy dance tunes. Turning out hit after hit written by Owen while never known for her vocal ability like many manufactured groups of the era, none of her live performances were actually sung, because the vocals were provided by a studio artist. The Miisa Project sound was solely created by Cris Owen.
His autobiography, [2] "My Life Is A Lie" published in 2002 caused a huge media sensation.
According to the Finnish Magazine 7 Päivää Cris is engaged to be married to beautiful Ms. Amanda Netscher.
Cris Owen like Madonna, is a strong Kabbalah believer and often spotted at the Kabbalah Center in London.
