Cripple Bastards are a grindcore band from Asti, Italy. They were formed in 1988. They were formed in order to keep their area on the Hardcore map as most of the other bands around them were breaking up.

They were formed by vocalist Giulio the Bastard and guitarist Alberto the Crippler. They were initially a metal influenced punk band and were called called Grimcorpses. They were not satisfied by their music however and soon decided to go towards a more extreme direction. They decided on the name Cripple Bastards due to their change in music. They combined Hardcore and Metal influences with Grindcore, but still managed to sound different from many other grindcore bands at the time. Their first official demo saw Cripple Bastards sharing the same tape with two other bands (also including Cripple Bastards members). A few more tracks and demo's were recorded after this. The band also played various venues icluding their first ever international concert in Croatia.

By 1994 the band had finally drafted a bassist in Eduardo. In the following year the band had released their first full length album called Your Lies In Check. Drummer Paolo joined the band shortly. Eduardo soon had to leave the band and was replaced by Stefano, who was in the same band as Paolo. However they soon departed leaving the band with only two members once again. As the years went by, the band had made a large number of changes in personnel

The band released Misantropo a Senso Unico by 2000. This album went in an even more uncompromising direction. This was also the last of their album that featured Alberto the Crippler on guitar. Replacements were soon made howeve, and the band formed its most stable line-up. In 2003 the band released Desperately Insensitive. This album had a more 'clean' sound to it but the band still remained as brutal as ever. Bands that they have played with include Extreme Noise Terror and Napalm Death as well as many other bands
