The cricket team of Sri Lanka is an international cricket team representing Sri Lanka. It is governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka, the cricket governing body in Sri Lanka. The Cricket Team of Sri Lanka is currently the highest paid sports team in the country.

Played the first Test cricket match in February 1982 under the captaincy of Bandula Warnapura.

The first Test cricket victory of Sri Lanka happened in 1985 against India at Colombo under the captaincy of Duleep Mendis also the Indian team led by Kapil Dev.

In 1996 Sri Lanka won the ODI World Cricket Cup played in India and Pakistan
