[edit] Deletion

This category was cleared of its three entries about ten days ago during general housekeeping of the WikiProject Cricket categories. The category is erroneous and misleading because cricket in the British Isles, like soccer and rugby, is controlled by home boards or associations: in cricket terms this means the England & Wales Cricket Board, the Scottish Board and the Irish Cricket Union. There is no concept of a UK or British organisation or team in cricket.

The articles about English, Welsh and Scottish grounds are already correctly in their own categories and these in turn are sub-categories of category:cricket grounds so a UK category is not only erroneous and misleading, it is also superfluous.

Confusion has arisen in the deletion process because I inadvertently used the wrong cfd tag but this has now been corrected. The proposal was to delete because the category had been empty for over four days as per Categories for Delete/Merge/Rename, Special Case 4.3 and I think I have now corrected this.

Apologies for not fully understanding the deletion procedures but I spend my time on here creating articles for the benefit of the readers. --BlackJack | talk page 09:31, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
