From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Victoria Cricket Club in Ventura County California was founded by two West Indian engineers in 1990 and plays in the Southern California Cricket Association. After promotion to the second division in its first year Victoria is now the oldest club in Southern California not to play at Woodley cricket fields in Van Nuys. Notable achievements include a tour of England in 1995 by the Los Angeles Krickets, America's first cricket team of homeless players captained by David Sentance the Victoria captain. The Los Angeles Krickets later combined with Victoria players before moving to Woodley based teams. In 1999 Victoria toured England under its own flag playing in Lincolnshire, Moncton Coombes near Bath and at Hambledon, the English home of cricket. Today the team stays true to its racially diverse past with players from Pakistan, India, Barbados,Australia, England and the United States.
