Cretan horse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cretan Horse is a unique breed under extinction. The main characteristic of these horses is their small size and the special trot they have. Cretan horses never gallop and are very good at walking on rocky ground and uneven surfaces. The origin of the Cretan horse comes from the Arabic horse bloodlines, but through the years it has evolved to become a unique breed. At the 1997 counting, only 67 pure Cretan horses were counted on the island on Crete.
