Crest Nicholson

Crest Nicholson plc is a second tier British housebuilding company based in Chertsey, Surrey.

Crest Nicholson is presently listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index, chaired by John Matthews (independent director of, Diploma plc, Rotork plc and SDL plc).

Crest Nicholson operates in the South of England, the Midlands and Wales. Turnover for the year to 31 October 2005 was £701.7 million, with profits of £79.2 million before tax and £54.7 million after tax.

On 9 March 2007 it was announced that Crest Nicholson had agreed to be purchased by a consortium of UK bank HBOS and property magnate Tom Hunter in a deal valuing it at £715m ($1.4bn)[1].
