Crecelia (クレセリア, Kureseria^?, Crecelia in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion dollar^[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. It is one of the legendary Pokémon that premiers in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Crecelia in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.^[2]

Crecelia is an exclusively female Pokémon. Her body is shaped a bit like that of Porygon2. Her belly is yellow, while her back is a light blue. She has an ornament on her head that looks like a crescent moon, and also has three rings on her torso that look similar to the rings of Saturn. These rings are translucent. She has two small pink arms that resemble those of Pachirisu. The multitude of crescent shapes on her body may be the basis for her name, Crecelia. Her appearance resembles a swan. Light particles are given off by her veil-like feathers when she flies.

She is referred to as the embodiment of the crescent moon.

Crecelia made its first appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS, alongside many other new Pokémon.

It is one of the legendary Pokémon , and the second female-only legendary after Latias, being encountered late in the game at Full Moon Island, once the player has the National Pokédex. When encountered, it runs to different locations in Sinnoh, similar to the legendary beasts Entei, Raikou, and Suicune in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal; or like Latias and Latios in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald; as well as Emrit, also from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

As with many other legendary Pokémon, Crecelia also has its signature move; Crescent Dance. With this move, Crecelia will sacrifice itself (in other words, faint) to completely heal all aspects (such as HP and PP) of the next Pokémon that enters battle.^[3]

While Crecelia's defensive stats are very high, its offensive stats are relatively low, and its Speed stat is above-average.
