Crebain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Crebain were a kind of large crow found in the fictional world of Middle-earth created by J. R. R. Tolkien.
They inhabited Dunland all the way across the Misty Mountains as far as Fangorn forest during the Third Age. In Sindarin, these birds were named Crebain, and were servants and spies of various evil powers, notably Sauron. During the War of the Ring, they searched for the Ring-bearer.
Crebain make an appearance in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring; here they are controlled by the Wizard Saruman.
