"Wait a minute... This is Wikipedia, isn't it? What is this guy doing here?"
~ Oscar Wilde on Crazyswordsman's presence on Wikipedia
Hey, everypeoples. I'm Crazyswordman. I hail from New Jersey (even though I hate it, I'd rather move back to NYC), but I go to school at Washington University in St. Louis. I'm a fan of quite a few things, including sports, music, movies, music, and video games. Most ALL of everything I like is classic and comes from 1995 or earlier. My name is derived from my high schoool nickname and my thoughts on General Leo from my second favorite video game: Final Fantasy VI.
See my userboxes for my interests.
This is important for me to keep!

[edit] Images I have uploaded
Note to copyright checkers: For all my images, I am using them in informative ways and to accompany critical commentary (on the pages they appear on). Square-Enix has not released any images to the public domain (and they never really go after those who use them, the only people who do are sites that host the sprites, and these sprites were ripped), and thus these must have a rationale. These images do not intend to detract from Square's sales, and they can't unless Square starts selling spritebooks, which I seriously doubt they will.
Also, there have been some images I've re-uploaded and/or re-licensed to comply with our fair use.

I award this barnstar to Crazyswordsman for bringing the Final Fantasy VI page to Featured Article status! --PresN 16:20, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

While Deckiller and I helped out a lot with Final Fantasy VI, you really got things started over there, so have another barnstar from me. Ryu Kaze 21:04, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

- So apparently I have a Barnstar now. For doing that. (Apparently two barnstars).
[edit] My Todo list (will take about ten years to finish)
- Make sure every station in the NYC Subway has either an article or is in a list of minor stations.
- Get Cecil Harvey, Terra Branford, Celes Chere, Locke Cole, Zidane Tribal, Ness, Schala, and Lucca (Chrono Trigger) to be Good Articles
- Get EarthBound featured.
- Once out of college, take pictures of New York City train stations, expressways, and streets to contribute
[edit] My Wikipedian philosophy
I tend to lean inclusionist, however, I do not see everything worthy of its own article. This usually applies to obscure topics, websites, and memes without any notability. As long as something complies with WP:NPOV (which is easy, we've all written objective summaries as early as Middle School), WP:V (using WP:RS, but we all have different opinions on what is reliable and what is not. For example, a Fox News article may be considered reliable by Wiki standards, but definitely not by a liberal Democrat such as myself), and WP:NOR (just cite your source. It's not that hard), it merits a blurb or mention here. Something merits an article if it meets ALL of the following characteristics:
- It has some form of notability, any form will do.
- It is too long to be mentioned in a blurb, or it makes a list unnecessarily long.
- It can be referenced by WP:RS
I usually try to aviod votiong Delete on AfDs, and usually vote to Merge, Keep, or Transwiki. I just don't like seeing other people's hard work ridiculed like this by people who use words such as "silly" and "nonsense." If I used those words, I'd sound stuck up, and I don't want to sound that way.
As far as Vandalism goes, I don't like it (who would?). I don't run around reverting vandalism, though. I have better things to do with my time than be a policeman (plus, it's not fun). If I see vandalism, though, I'll happily revert it. I want to serve as proof that not everyone who hates vandalism is a deletionist.
I would also say I lean mergist, however, I hate long, overblown, unnecessary, hard to read lists. I actually created one of these for my first article, and now I would like to see it deleted and transwikied. If I see a list that is long and unnecessary, I'd like to see what merits its own article, and contemplate how the list can be better organized.
As such, I would personally like to characterize my philosophy as "Includo-Mergist." I love making up what I call "CSM-isms," heh.
I also hate it when people ridicule other people and their work. I am a strong believer in WP:CIVIL and WP:AFG.
Finally, in ongoing debates, I try to find some middle ground that keepers and deletionists can both agree on. One example was the Brian Peppers debate, which has been going on for nearly a year. Keepers and deletionists traded blows. I stepped in and tried to find some middle ground. Unfortunately, I failed, as Jimbo deleted it for the same reasons I was trying to look for the compromise. I have voted in middle ground in other controversies as well.

As you can see, I like colorful userboxes. They're funny and cool. I don't care what Jimbo says about them. We should be able to express ourselves however we want. WP:FREE is a countervandalism policy that does not apply to user pages. Jimbo's claim that "Userboxes divide and disrupt Wikipedians" is false, as I have NEVER seen two users fight over such a thing. And even still, many of the claims made to the said philosophy are only mere speculation. And I should say that WP:NOT Minority Report (and WP:NOT#Wikipedia is not a crystal ball is policy). The only divisions I see are the rampant fights between users who wish to keep userboxes and those who are mass deleting them. THAT is what disrupts Wikipedia and wastes our time, believe it or not, despite what people will tell you. Jimbo himself said he was against mass deletion of userboxes if it can be avoided, and it can. Trust me on this one.
