"Crazy on You" is the guitar-driven debut single from the female-fronted (Nancy and Ann Wilson) rock band Heart's debut album Dreamboat Annie, released in 1976. Starting out with a quick and soft guitar sample, the song grinds into fast-paced hard rock that was the signature sound of the band in their early years.
Loaded with sexual innuendo, the song's lyrics tell of a woman's desire to forget all the problems of the world during one night of lust and passion.
Issued by Canada's Mushroom Records, the song became Heart's first U.S. chart entry, peaking at number thirty-five on the Billboard Hot 100. Two years later, the single was re-released by Mushroom — this time reaching number sixty-two in the U.S. The single's B-side, "Dreamboat Annie", was later released on its own as an A-side.
Despite its relatively low chart placing in 1976, "Crazy on You" remains as one of Heart's signature tunes and is still a staple on U.S. classic rock radio stations.
A part of the song was sampled by Eminem on his song "Crazy in Love"
The song is also featured in the films The Virgin Suicides and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. It is also featured as a playable track in the video game Guitar Hero II.
