Craigie High School

Craigie High School is a comprehensive school situated between the Craigie and Craigiebank areas of Dundee, Scotland The school was opened in 1970 and has around 800 pupils and over 70 staff. Current headteacher is Mr C. Biernat, and deputised by Mrs A. Griffiths. The school operates a house system, in which Craigie has 3, these are Broughty, Glamis and Claypotts. These Houses are run by assistant headteachers, Mr K. Hearn, Mrs E. Rae and Mrs A. Waghorn respectively.
The school offers a broad range of subjects across 19 departments, with courses for Standard Grade, Access3, Intermediates 1 and 2, Higher and Advanced Higher, as well as a large number of SQA National Certificate modules. At the heart of the school lies its commitment to sound learning and teaching within a routine discipline system and supportive environment.
Its ethos emphasises that all pupils should strive for high standards of behaviour both within school and the wider community.
In 2000, the school won the Scottish Schools Ethos Award.[1]
