Craig Walsh

Craig Walsh (Craig Thomas Walsh b. Somerville, New Jersey, April 11, 1971) is an American composer. Walsh studied at the Mannes College of Music (B.Mus.) in New York City and Brandeis University (M.F.A., Ph.D). His major teachers included Martin Boykan, Eric Chasalow, Robert Cuckson, David Loeb, and Yehudi Wyner. He has received numerous awards for his work, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, and currently teaches composition at the University of Arizona [1]. His music is recorded on the Society of Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States CD series and on Centaur Records.

He is a board member of the New West Electro Acoustic Music Organization [2], an annual international festival of electro-acoustic music that gives performances in San Diego, Portland OR, Mexico City, Berlin and Rome. NWEAMO concerts typically feature a broad and eclectic spectrum of electro-acoustic styles and genres, ranging from IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) to the fringes of the abstract avant garde.
