Craig Salvatori

Craig Salvatori was an Australian rugby league Footballer.

A Eastern Suburbs junior, Salvatori first broke into the top grade 1n 1986 and during his time Salvatori - 'Salvo' played more than 100 matches for the club, many as captain. Salvatori was a large and 'fiery' frontrow forward but he possessed skill and some pace scoring 21 tries in his time at the club. In the 1991 season Salvatori won the 'Dally M' award for front rower of the year. That season he first gained selection for Australia , playing in two matches against New Zealand. He was also selected for an Australian tour of Papua New Guinea, unnfortunately he sustained an injury in the first tour match which prevented him from playing in any of the tests. 'Salvo' also represented NSW in five State Of Origin matches. Plagued by knee injuries, Salvatori spent the final year of his playing career with the South Sydney Rabbitohs clubs. 'Salvo'

Since his retirement Salvatori has taken on a role coaching some of rugby leagues emerging nations.

His first wife, Kathy Salvatori, was killed in the 2002 Bali bombing. [1] [2]
