[edit] Career
McEwan began his career with Clyde but failed to make an appearance and left in 1997 to join Raith Rovers. After three years in Kirkcaldy, McEwan moved to Ayr United, where he would stay for the next two seasons. Three years with Dumbarton followed, before a two-year spell with Brechin City. McEwan left Brechin in January 2007 to join Stenhousemuir in a swap deal with David Murie.
McEwan is the third-most capped player at Scotland under-21 level, behind Gary Naysmith and record-holder Christian Dailly, winning his last cap in March 1999.
