Crackington Haven

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Crackington Haven is a small cove between Bude and Boscastle on the Atlantic coast in North Cornwall, England, UK. It is a popular camping location, situated in walking country. It has a small beach and is easily reached from the A39, albeit down a fairly steep road. There are toilet facilities on the beach and lifeguard cover in the summer. Dogs are banned on the beach from Easter Day to October 1.

Immediately south of the beach is the awesome "High Cliff", a 735ft (225m) sheer drop cliff which takes it name from the fact that it is Cornwall's highest cliff. Although not quite as high as Devon's "Great Hangman" (which has a cliff face of 820ft), it is classified as Southern Britains highest sheer-drop cliff as the "Great Hangman" is a hog-backed hill with a cliff-face, rather than being a normal sheer cliff.
