CPR (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CPR or Crosby, Pevar & Raymond is a rock/jazz band that consists of members David Crosby (founding member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), session guitarist Jeff Pevar, and pianist James Raymond.
In 1995 James Raymond learned to what he could attribute some of his musical gifts when he was reunited with his birth father, David Crosby. The two almost immediately began writing together, bringing their diverse musical backgrounds together in an exciting collaboration. Combining with talented guitarist, Jeff Pevar, who had toured with Crosby & Nash, they formed a trio that blended the vocal harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash with the jazz changes of Steely Dan.
The first song that Crosby and Raymond co-wrote, entitled "Morrison," was performed live for the first time on the CPR tour in January 1997. The song recalled Crosby's feelings about the portrayal of Jim Morrison in the movie "The Doors." The tremendous success of the 1997 tour spawned a record project, "CPR," which was released in 1998.
