Hmmm ... what to say? Let's start with the basics. Yes, I am a Certified Public Accountant (as the "CPA" in my User Name indicates), but I haven't been in public practice for many years. Although I still hold a license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, my career has evolved to the related field of internal auditing. Related to my current field, I am a Certified Internal Auditor, and, although I've thought about changing my User Name to "CIAScott" to more closely align with my actual profession, I figured too many people would think I'm part of something covert.
I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State but currently live in Massachusetts.
Some of my hobbies and interests include:
- Letterboxing -- a somewhat unique and interest outdoor past-time that involves aspects of hiking, orienteering, puzzle solving, and stamp carving. I maintain my own letterboxing website to track my statistics.
- Baseball -- I'm a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and an avid Yankee-hater.
- Wine -- although I pretty well enjoy most all wines, my favorites are Rieslings and Gewürtztraminers from the Finger Lakes, Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand or Sancerre (France), Pinot Noirs from Willamette Valley, Oregon, and anything from Montalcino (but especially Brunello).
- Euchre -- being from Western NY, I grew up on this game, but as I now live in Massachusetts, my only option is to play online. I like Hardwood Euchre.
