[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Piper is consumed with insecurities over her impending 10-year high school reunion, but when a she-demon unexpectedly takes possession, Piper turns very "Coyote Ugly" and it is up to Prue and Phoebe to save the day.

[edit] Enemies

  • Alchemist: Alchemists can transform anything, like water into gold, energy into matter. They even have the ability to bring the dead back to life.

[edit] Artifacts

  • Essence Bearer: An alchemist would use a bottle such as this to capture and/or store a Life Essence. A Life Essence is comparable to a human soul, but made in a mixing lab. A well made Life Essence can possess any living being, but would prove toxic and eventually lethal to the being’s pre-existing soul.
  • Crimson Scalpel: This ceremonial instrument is used by an Alchemist to make an incision in a body. The Demon uses spells and an incantation on the blood and lets it drip into a magic Essence Bearer, where it thickens to form an essence. Other ingredients make it a fully-formed Life Essence.

[edit] Spells

Piper's spirit fighting for her body.

  • To Vanquish an Alchemist: Let flesh be flesh and bone be bone. The alchemist shall transform none. Cruel scientist of evil born, with these words, face the fire's scorn.
  • Dispossession Spell: Host soul reject the poisoned essence. Let love's light end this cruel possession.
  • To Animate The Dead: Caducus Exanimas Vita Aetas Anima.

[edit] Trivia

  • This episode title refers to the film Coyote Ugly where, incidentally, the main characters is played by an actress named Piper Perabo.
  • Phoebe has a premonition of the past in this episode, seeing Cole's parents fighting over him as a child. In it, we discover that Cole's father was human and Cole's mother was a demon.
  • In this episode, they reveal that Piper was not very popular in high school, but Prue was, and that Prue was the head cheerleader and class president.
Piper is killed by Prue in this episode.

  • Piper was said to have graduated high school in 1992. The sign in the beginning of this episode reads: Baker High Class of '90. This originally aired in January, 2001, which, though earlier in the year than most reunions are held, would imply she'd graduated in 1991. In the episode Pardon My Past it is revealed that Piper's birth-date is March 1973, which, barring grade skipping or entering school early would make her a member of the Class of 1991.
  • The Charmed Ones are terrorized by another Alchemist in the Season 7 penultimate episode Death Becomes Them, and another is briefly seen in Season 3 episode "Look Who's Barking".
  • Phoebe and Paige later re-visit this episode in Cat House. At the point when they walk down the stairs of the club and witness Piper bar-dancing is approximately the same time when Prue and Phoebe should be standing in the same spot watching. So logically they should have bumped into each other.
  • Piper dies for the third time.
  • This episode was choreographed by Shannen Doherty.
  • Holly Marie Combs husband David W Donoho appeared in this episode as the guy at the bar.
