Cowes Floating Bridge

The Cowes Floating Bridge is a vehicular chain ferry which crosses the River Medina on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England. The ferry crosses the tidal river from East Cowes to West Cowes. The ferry is owned and operated by the Isle of Wight Council. The current ferry boat, named No. 5, was built in 1975 and can carry up to 20 cars.[1]

As of 24/05/06 onwards, the one-way fare for a Car, Van, Tractor, or Motorcycle was set at £1.40. Foot passengers and cyclists may cross for free[1]
