Covina High School is one of three comprehensive high schools within the Covina-Valley Unified School District. Established in 1899, Covina High is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges. There are approximately 1,304 students enrolled for the 1997-98 school year.
The teaching staff includes forty-six regular education teachers and six special education teachers. Addition personnel include the school principal, an assistant principal, two deans, a student activities advisor, three counselors, and four librarians. One of the best known teachers is Teri Lane, director of the movie Half a Dollar.

- Hussein Mohamed Farrah - He is the former President of Somalia and son of Mohamed Farrah Aidid.
- Ward Kimball, one of the original Disney animators, and leader of the Dixieland band Firehouse Five Plus Two, was a member of the Covina High School class of 1929.
- Willie Shoemaker, jockey, went to Covina High School.
- Cathy Sorbo, comic and columnist for the Seattle Spin section of the Seattle_P-I went to Covina High School.
