Cover Girl (G.I. Joe)

Courtney A. Krieger, better known as Cover Girl, is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero themed toy line of the 1980s, appearing in both the comic books and the cartoons. She is one of G.I. Joe's tank jockeys, specializing in the Wolverine missile tank.
Prior to joining G.I. Joe, Cover Girl was a very successful fashion model from Peoria, Illinois who graced the covers of countless magazines, but she found the world of modelling unfulfilling and joined the army to seek out new challenges in life. She felt very driven to master distinctly unfeminine traits in order to prove that she was not just a pretty face. Her beauty made her something of a fantasy object among many Joes, most notably Clutch who was constantly hitting on her and any other woman who came into his line of sight. Like Scarlett, Cover Girl was disgusted and repulsed by Clutch's blatantly chauvinistic personality and continually rejected his advances, only to be confounded at how good a team they made in the heat of battle.
Cover Girl never achieved the recognition or prominence of Scarlett and Lady Jaye, but she became a regular recurring character in both the animated G.I. Joe series and the comic books. When she first appeared in the MASS Device miniseries, she had long blonde hair, blue eyes, dressed in regular green military fatigues and had a somewhat docile personality about her although she saves the day in a crisis in the story. When she reappeared, albeit sporadically, in The Revenge of Cobra, her hair had changed to a shorter, orange/auburn coloring (slightly resembling Scarlett's in style), brownish eyes and a mostly beige uniform with a brown leather jacket. Her personality changed a bit as well, taking on a distinctly more tomboy type of attitude, which was most prominently shown when she rejected the advances of Shipwreck, providing more contrast between her and the equally tough yet still recognizably feminine Scarlett and Lady Jaye.
Cover Girl did not have much of a love life in either the cartoon or the comic book, but the cartoon occasionally implied that she had a crush on Duke. It was revealed in Issue #20 of G.I. Joe: America's Elite that she is dating Shipwreck, much to the jealousy of Clutch. She will appear with Shipwreck in the upcoming Special Missions Brazil.
In the animated series, Cover Girl was voiced by Liz Aubrey.
