Covenant University

Covenant University is a private university in Nigeria.

It was founded by the Winners' Chapel in Ota, Ogun State. The chancellor is Dr. David Oyedepo who is the President of the Living Faith Church World-wide and the Senior Pastor of the Faith Tabernacle, reputed to be the largest church auditorium worldwide. It is a competitive admission school where students are taught to fear God, become expert thinkers, and to develop Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large.

The vision of Covenant University is to raise a new generation of leaders that will restore the dignity of the Black race, through a biblical-based platform with the desired discipline to enforce its vision. It could be compared to the Oral Roberts University (Based in the US) of Nigeria and indeed Africa

The institution has its focus rooted in seven core values which are Spirituality, Possibility mentality, Integrity, Responsibility, Capacity-building, Diligence and Sacrifice.

The current Vice chancellor is Prof Mrs Aize Obayan.The University started off on its present location in 2002, enrolling her first set of students. The first commencement ceremony took place on July 28, 2006. 720 first degrees and Masters degrees were awarded.

The courses range from three to five years, and in the third year of each student's degree programme, they are taught entrepreneurship which is meant to build their ability to grow in their careers without dependence on the government.

The university has three colleges, housing 20 departments. The colleges are the College of Business and Social Sciences, the College of Human Development and the College of Science and Technology.
