Hello there, fellow Wikipedians, and welcome to my humble abode!

Allow me to introduce myself - my name is Chris Philpot, I'm a 17 year old sixth form student from West Sussex in the United Kingdom, currently studying Computing, Maths, Media Studies and Physics for my A levels.

That's about all you need to know about me, I suppose, apart from one question I'm asked probably more than any other: where does the pseudonym 'CountdownCrispy' come from? So here goes, once and for all: the second part of it, 'Crispy' is an oronym for the shortened form of my name, "Chris P", and is a nickname I picked up in primary school and have been using on the internet since I first started tapping my fingers on a keyboard.

The first part of the name is a recent addition; since most websites like Wikipedia already have a Crispy registered, I decided to prefix my established pen name with something that no-one else in their right mind would pick for a username. I plumped for 'Countdown' as alliterative recognition of my appearance as a contestant on Countdown a couple of years ago. It says a lot about me that my greatest (and some would argue only) achievement in life so far is saying the word "PUBIC" on national television and maintaining a straight face.

Now, the juicy stuff you came here for (well, probably): my activities on Wikipedia. Whilst I enjoy getting my teeth into an article if I'm really interested in what it's about, you're more likely to find me making minor edits, reverting vandalism or adding my comments on the featured picture candidates. You'll always know if I've been working on a page because my edit summaries tend to be significantly longer than the actual edited text!

Having said all of the above, what you're most likely to find me doing on Wikipedia is just reading - I've learnt so much from Wikipedia, and on a range of topics which I would never normally have looked through in a regular paper encyclopædia. I've been introduced to topics from Tiki Bar TV through to crushing by elephant, and I don't intend to stop any time soon. Why not give it a try?
