[edit] Concerning My Name
Those who are knowledgeable of the Phantom of the Opera, novel, 1986 musical, and 2004 film will have recognized the character Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny. However, both the musical and film ignore the existence of other members of the vicomte's family, e.g. Raoul's older sibling the Count de Chagny. In the plot of the novel, however, the count is murdered and the vicomte subsequently inherits the family title, becoming the Count de Chagny.
I have been a Wikipedia user since November 2005, and with some help, I created a this userpage and became a contributing Wikipedian on January 5th 2007. My editing skills apply mainly to articles that concern the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union, but I also contribute to "stub" articles and create new articles that are requested by others. I delete vandalism wherever it is found.
[edit] My Policies
Similar to the rules present in life, diplomacy is necessary to Wikipedia. Reason must become the motivation of an argument and any form of logical fallacy, if present, must be found quickly. Editors must remain calm to avoid succumbing to irrationality and making mistakes that could damage their case. As always, never make a personal attack against any editor, vandal, etc., as this is logical fallacy. Assumptions are only to be made on Wikipedia if one have enough evidence to support one's claim and to refute possible future rebuttals.
[edit] Citing Sources
All contributors should be encouraged to cite sources. People are more likely to trust in the neutrality and reliability of Wikipedia when source citations can easily be checked and verified. Most other problems can be fixed later on by later editors, but it's often very hard to re-find information; so if everyone works to cite their sources, it'd be better for all.
