Cousin Tuny

Doris Freeman, aka Cousin Tuny, is an American radio personality who was popular in the 1960s. She is a local legend in Jackson, TN.

She stars in local commercials and also hosts the cerebral palsy telethon on WBBJ.

The Legend of Cousin Tuny is a documentary about her. She appeared on a 1967 telethon with Leonard Nimoy.

Sometimes called "Go-Go", her philanthropy is renowned throughout the southeastern United States. She currently has three daughters (Patricia, Cindie, and Constance) and one son (James). She has four grandsons (Stephen, Brad, James Jr. and Benjamin).

Doris will often greet you as her "cuz". To Cousin Tuny, we are all family.

Doris currently has two books in print. Her biography "Cuz: Tuning in with Cousin Tuny" was co-written by her daughter Cindie Haynie who currently lives and works in Hollywood, California. Her second book "Tunyisms etc..." was also cowritten with Ms. Haynie.

There is a park dedicated to her in downtown Jackson, TN.
