Council of Federated Organizations
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Council of Federated Organizations, or COFO, was formed in 1962.
COFO consisted of four primary civil rights organizations: the NAACP, Congress of Racial Equality, Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. It was formed in order to try to unite the groups for their common goal, as differing views on going about the civil rights movement caused disputes.
