"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is a 2000 duet from singers Whitney Houston and Enrique Iglesias, written by Diane Warren. The song first appeared on Iglesias's debut English-language album Enrique as a slow Latin styled ballad. At this point Iglesias and Houston had never actually met in person as both of them recorded the song in separate studios, Iglesias recorded the song in Los Angeles and Whitney in Hamburg, Germany with both of them singing with each other over the phone. The two eventually met in the studio to rerecord the song for single release. The new version was faster paced and featured Houston marginally more. The song was released by Houston's label, Arista, as the first USA single of her greatest-hits set (while "If I Told You That" leaded the singles in most of the European countries), Whitney: The Greatest Hits, and the sixth single from Enrique's album Enrique. It was a modest hit in U.S., while reaching #3 in the UK. The song reached the European top ten and successful in Germany were the CD Single went Gold.
