Template talk:COTWCurrentPicks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This template is huge. Is it really necessary to include this on the current collaborations anyway? Maybe a smaller template that links to the main colaborations page is all that's needed. I've never had too much trouble navigating between current collaborations. Agent 86 03:30, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- I was asked to make this template for the bottom of this article and any other COTW project that wants to place it in their footer. That being said, I welcome anyone's attempt to make this smaller while still including the project name and current pick. I know it's very time consuming for me to keep clicking through each COTW project to see what is their current pick as there's no central place that lists current collaborations. plange 03:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- That looks more like a suggestion than a request. Nothing wrong with having one stop shopping, but I find it pretty easy to find collaborations here. If there is to be something like this, more input ought to be obtained from those who participate in the collaborations. Maybe put a note on the talk pages for each of the various collaboration projects asking people for their comments on the proposed template before launching it. The template should be more compact and purhaps could instead take the reader to a category page or some other listing of all the current collaborations. Agent 86 17:17, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Trimming the template
I asked for the template. Any projects, COTWs, people, etc. that don't want it on their page, don't need it on their page. Those that do want it have the option of using it. I will see if I can trim it a little. Thanks, plange. Maurreen 04:30, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted the icon to trim it. Another option is below. I think I'd like the lines to align to the left, but I don't know how to make it do that. Maurreen 06:00, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nice, I like it!! plange 06:12, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
