Cotylorhynchus was a large caseid pelycosaur that lived in the Permian period. Cotylorhynchus is the largest known caseid (~pelycosaur) and the largest tetrapod of its time (C. hancooki being the largest). It was so large, in fact, that it had nothing to fear from carnivores. Cotylorhynchus had a length of 6 metres (~20 feet) and weighed around 2 tons. Like all other caseids, Cotylorhynchus was a herbivore.
