Cotton Davidson

Francis Marion Davidson (born November 30, 1931 in Gatesville, Texas [1] [2]) known by his nickname "Cotton" Davidson, was an American football quarterback for the NFL's Baltimore Colts (1954, 1957), and the AFL's Dallas Texans (1960-1961) and Oakland Raiders (1962-1968).
Davidson attended Baylor University, [1] [2] and was selected in the first round of the 1954 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Colts. [1]
Alongside playing quarterback, Davidson also played the position of placekicker and punter.[2] Davidson was the first starting quarterback of the Dallas Texans football franchise.
Davidson was selected to the American Football League All-Star Game twice--in 1961 and in 1963.[1] He was awarded as the MVP of the 1961 AFL All-Star Game with the Raiders.
