Talk:Cost-weighted activity index

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A merger is completely inappropriate. While mathematically the calculation of this index is the same as for a Laspeyres price index, it is not a price index. It is measuring something completely different.--Runcorn 19:47, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

If this is mathematically nothing more than a Laspeyres index, why does it need its own article? 81.104.165.184 02:19, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
To explain its application to a particular problem, namely to measure Government output. it may be that the example can be reformulated, but the principle of the article is important.--Runcorn 07:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
We usually describe the application of a method on the article for that method, and currently Laspeyres index is a redirect to price index. It may be that the latter needs a better title, but that's not relevant. 81.104.165.184 02:32, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
