[edit] Plot
Victor Baxter gets a job as a personal chef to the President of the United States and, with daughter Raven Baxter and her friends Chelsea and Eddie attending college and wife Tanya Baxter still in law school in London, he and his son Cory Baxter pack up and move to the White House in Washington, D.C.. There, Cory has to deal with adjusting to a new life at a prep school, while Victor attempts to deal with the pressures of working for the most powerful man in America. The newly elected president is President Richard Martinez.
[edit] Characters
- Kyle Massey as Cory Baxter - The main character in the series, Cory lives with father Victor Baxter, and is the best friend of Newt Livingston, and Meena Paroom, whom he has a crush on. Cory also seems to mind the President's 8-year-old daughter Sophie Martinez, because of her two-facedness. He usually looks to his dad for advice.
- Jason Dolley as Newt Livingston The son of a senator and Chief of Justice, and best friend of Meena Paroom and Cory Baxter. He is not that bright and lives for rock and roll.
- Maiara Walsh as Meena Paroom - The daughter of the Bahavian Ambassador, and the best friend of Newt Livingston and protagonist Cory Baxter. Meena is the object of Cory's affection, but is not aware of it yet. She likes to be different and do things differently from the traditional Bahavian culture. She is a talented singer.

[edit] Production and International Broadcasts
The only spin-off show produced by Disney, Cory in the House was originally set to premiere on November 10, 2006; however, it was delayed to air on January 12, 2007, a week before the fourth anniversary of its parent show, That's So Raven and directly following the movie Jump In!. It was released in the United Kingdom on January 26th 2007 on Disney Channel UK, which is the soonest a Disney show ever released in another country, and will premiere in Portugal in March. Disney Channel Asia has been airing teasers that Cory in the House will premiere on April.
The pilot episode, "The New Kid in Town", was released on iTunes for free on the week of January 2, 2007. Disney Channel UK showed the first episode on January 26th as a sneak peek. The theme song "Cory in the House" is sung by Kyle Massey and Maiara Walsh. An alternate theme song "Rollin' to D.C." is also sung by Massey and Walsh and is used in the music video for the series. The premiere gained 7.6 million viewers, making it the highest rated series premiere for Disney.[citation needed]
The show will be premiere in Disney Channel Italy on May 16th 2007.
The show is created by Marc Warren and Dennis Rinsler, who produced That's So Raven. Cory in the House began filming on July 18, 2006 at Hollywood Center Studios (where The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and That's So Raven are filmed), and will partially use a studio audience in some scenes. [1]
In Fall 2007, ABC Kids will add Cory in the House to their Saturday-morning lineup. [2]
[edit] Trivia
- It is a tradition for Newt to greet Meena's dad by saying "Ambassador P!", and for the Ambassador to respond back, in an irritated voice, "Newton" and say something about how happy he is that Cory and Newton are friends with his daughter in a sarcastic tone.
- It is regularly seen that Cory, Newt, and Meena jumps like the cast of High School Musical.
