Cortical minicolumn

Cortical minicolumn is a cortical column containing 80 to 120 neurons. The apical dendrites of the Pyramidal cells are bundled together vertically. They often share with specific response characteristics in time and space. The macrocolumns contain hundreds of adjacent minicolumns and may specialize, e.g., responding best to the right eye.
