Corsham Computer Centre

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corsham Computer Centre (CCC) is an underground British government installation near RAF Corsham and RAF Rudloe Manor in the heavily-tunneled Corsham area of Wiltshire. The exact details of the operations at the CCC are not publicly known, although there is much speculation about their nature.

Some claim that it is the home of the UK UFO investigations. A more believable explanation that has been mentioned is that it is a radar tracking station for submarines.

CCC is named 'Corsham Computers' on civilian invoices, and an access sign is of a non-military type, presumably to disguise the nature of the place.

[edit] Facility Description

The facility has obvious characteristics of an underground bunker, with no real above ground features barring the steps down to the door. CCTV follows your movements when on the property. The outer blast door is massively thick and military style guards are inside the entrance.

Beyond that there is test tube style pods you step inside to pass through from the door to the main area. Once past these there is a fast moving lift that goes down to just one level, but far from the surface. This opens into a main hallway, circular, with possibly 4 or 5 hallways from that, with the front 1 or 2 having offices or similar in them. The hallway is sparse, and contains nothing more than a water dispenser.

Rumours of UK UFO investigations are based on information available at the public records office which cites investigations carried out by Provost and Security Service (P&SS) staff based at nearby Rudloe Manor. Recently P&SS moved to another facility called RAF Henlow. The MOD has now admitted that P&SS dealth with all UFO report information as a centralised body within the MOD.

Investigative journalists such as Matthew Williams have been informed that CCC is a joint Army, RAF and Navy facility which is a fallback strike command centre duplicating the functions of NATO Strike Command at High Wycombe, Northolt, Oakhanger and others.

CCC contains a supercomputer which is mounted on shock bearing rubber slabs.

Cover stories are often given to the press regarding the function of CCC. These include that the facility serves as a document records facility and a Submartine radar tracking station. However most subarines are tracked by Sonar so this would make little sense. A Navy ship is seen as a photograph inside the first security doors which does add to this cover story.
