Corpus vasorum antiquorum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum was the first research project of the Union Academique Nationale of France. Its first meeting was held in 1919 in Paris, where Edmond Pottier made the motion that a comprehensive catalogue of ancient greek vases should be drawn up. He produced the first fascicule for the Louvre in 1922. The project now consists of a compendium of over 100,000 vases, the product of the involvement of 27 participating countries.
