Corporate Knights Inc. was established in 2002, and is an independent Canadian-based media company in Toronto. They also have the world’s largest circulation corporate responsibility magazine.

Corporate Knights magazine is distributed inside the Globe and Mail national newspaper six times a year. The magazine publishes an annual ranking of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada. It also has a ranking of University business school's in Canada for undergraduate and MBA rankings that identifies schools that infused social and environmental impact management into their curricula.

Other recent rankings included the Green Machines for environmentally friendly companies, the Ultimate Guide for Responsible Investors highlighting Canadian mutual funds, and The Toxic 50 showing the biggest industrial polluters in Canada.

Corporate Knights also creates an annual Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World ranking, announced each year at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

On April 20, 2006, Corporate Knights organized a special Earth Week Gala dinner in Ottawa to honour former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney as the Greenest PM in Canadian History. The event was the hottest ticket in the country with current Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Quebec Premier Jean Charest, Ben Mulroney, Sheila Copps, Elizabeth May, US Ambassador David Wilkins and other VIPs in attendance. Rick Mercer provided opening comments for the evening and raised eyebrows by bringing Liberal leadership candidate Gerard Kennedy as his date. Kennedy was seated at the head table with Mercer and the current and former Prime Minister. The event was broadcast live on national television.

The publisher of Corporate Knights is Karen Kun. The editor-in-chief is Toby Heaps.
